Soap cup will not stay closed.

The lid to the soap cup will not stay closed. GE GSD580G02 . I thought it was possibly the spring loaded activator its attached to, but it wasnt. maybe the Detergent Timer Lever (part# 861) isnt engaging? Does this actually attach to the detergent cup latch? Or is does it engage during operation? Its a mystery. I installed a new latch, but that didnt fix it.

Do you own this unit? Please describe repair issue you are having.

How long did you have this dishwasher for? What is the problem with it right now? What kind of diagnostics did you perform? Any earlier repairs?
