Maytag Dishwasher MDBH979SAW1

I have owned this dishwasher about 2 years. I purchased it from Home Depot and installed myself. It seemed to work well and is quiet, but now the front control panel is acting flaky. It only runs a full sanitize cycle no matter what buttons you push. My plan. Pull front panel, clean all contacts, test operation. If all Ok, happy days. If not, purchase new panel, ~$200 and/or buy cheap, simple dishwasher (no computer model) ~$250.
