Not emptying at the final cycle

We bought this unit about 10 years ago from an appliance atore tha tis now closed. However it was a very reputable dealer. The owner retired and none of the family wanted the business. This unit has performed well up until this point and is much quieter than our previous unit (GE). The current probelm is tha when the unit is in it's final empty cycle, it does not empty. There is however a rapid clicking sound from behind the selector dial that sounds like gears not meshing correctly so I'm wondering if the gears in the timer may be worn and not allowing the machine to go to the empty cycle correctly.

Do you own this unit? Please describe repair issue you are having.
