metal & plastic parts inside ice dispensing bin broke off and is not repairable

This refrigerator works as well as expected but the ice dispensing bin obviously has a defect that should not occur with the little amount of use it gets. Parts inside the ice bin broke away from the plastic mounts. I have decided not to replace this ice bin as its too expensive to replace but will try to use it as it is. my feeling is that it should be re[placed to us cost free. We do not have problems with other same manufactured appliances
