Start button doesn't work on control panel

This unit came with our house when it was built and generally has served us well enough. I personally have never liked how the unit will smell of gas (and the entire kitchen area) during the first few minutes of the baking process as it has always been a little slow to ignite. Now the oven will not work because the membrane switches for the Start and temp down buttons appear to have died.
