melted wiring block on rear center of range

Has performed reasonably well for the 5 or so years we have had it. today oven would not heat and burners would not function either. Checked breakers and wire to stove and all ok. Took back panel of stove off to discover that the red wired side of the junction block that connects the pigtail to the rear of the stove had literally melted leaving the red wire that goes to the range hanging. There appears to be no evidence of shorting, only the one side of the wire connecting block literally melted.must replace the block to see if everything once again functions ok.
