Reliability of Kenmore electric range 790..9642240A

One month out of warrenty the simmer control assembly shorted out and blew our simmer control board. Called Sears for repair and with a lot of frustration got an excellent repair person who repaired the range. To their credit Sears waived the repair fee. Time to repair two weeks. Now about 15 months later the indicator light for power applied will not turn off. We are throwing the range circuit breaker at night. It may be less hassle to diagnose and repair myslef.
