Won't take moisture out of air

Just bought this unit from a store in Norfolk, VA and they won't take returns. I turned it on and it has been running for 2 days and has not taken a drop of moisture out of the air. The fan is running and it sounds like it is working but it isn't doing anything. I have another unit by Kenmore that is working on the other side of the house and is drawing enough water that I have to empty it at least 1-2 times a day. I tried switching rooms even but all it is doing is blowing cold air out like it is a fan but it is not doing what I purchased it for and am stuck with a dead machine. Definitely would not buy another Haier again and would not recommend. Would love to fix it but even the troubleshooting in the book is useless.

Just called Haier regarding my unit not working and had excellent customer service and they are sending me a new unit. I just sent in a note to you all so would like to make an addendum to the first note so please add.
